Android Enterprise Agent Maintenance Releases

15.1.2 (January 17, 2022) - Download the Android Enterprise device agent from the Google Play Store or the MobiControl Android Enterprise Agent Downloads page.

Release Highlights

File Access Improvement on Android Enterprise

On Android 11, the “Manage External Storage” permission can now be granted to the agent during device enrollment either silently or interactively (depending on agent configuration) when enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed. This reduces the possibility of having to obtain this permission while the device is out in the field.

Manage Captive Portal Detection on Android Enterprise

Captive portal detection can now be disabled silently with a supported plugin on devices enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed which ensures that devices remain connected to corporate Wi-Fi networks without Internet access even when the device has access to cellular data.

Wi-Fi Band Configuration Support for Zebra Devices

You can now enforce the frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) for Wi-Fi network connections on Zebra devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed which allows administrators to restrict their Zebra devices to Wi-Fi networks with better network reliability and security.

Manage Wi-Fi Network Access for Samsung Devices

Wi-Fi Service Set Identifier (SSID) can now be blacklisted on Samsung devices that are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work Managed or Corporate Personal. This allows administrators to restrict their Samsung device users from accessing insecure/unapproved Wi-Fi networks.
