MobiControl v14.4.1 Release Notes
14.4.1 Build 1195 (July 30, 2019)
MD5 Checksum: 574deb86c6d79a2eb11af46afceed6a8
Upgrade Observations
- The MobiControl installer will warn on upgrade if it detects Profiles with the Webroot powered "Web Filter" and/or "Antivirus" device configurations. Future upgrades will not be allowed unless all "Web Filter" configurations are transitioned to "SOTI Surf", and all Android Plus device agents are upgraded to v13.5 or higher to continue support for Antivirus.
Features and Improvements
Android Plus
Shared Device
The Android Plus Shared Device advanced configuration now provides the ability to remove the device passcode when a user logs out of a Shared Device. This feature is only supported on Samsung devices running Android 7.0 or later with a SOTI MobiControl Android Plus device agent (v13.7.5 or later) installed.
Task Scheduler
The Task Scheduler profile configuration for the Android Plus platform has a new option to execute scripts immediately when the profile is deployed to the device.
Combined Plugin Installation Device Action
The Update Device Plugin device action has been consolidated into the Install Device Plugin device action. With this single action, customers can update their devices with the latest plugins and push plugins to devices without existing plugins at the same time.
iOS
Support for Clearing Passcode on iOS 13 Devices
The release of iOS 13 in September 2019 will introduce changes in the MDM protocol used to communicate between iOS devices and MDM servers such as SOTI MobiControl. SOTI MobiControl v14.4.1 addresses these changes pre-emptively, specifically by ensuring administrators retain the ability to clear passcodes from devices running iOS 13.
SOTI Apps
SOTI Hub
Support for Nextcloud Content Repository
Administrators can now provide access to the Nextcloud content management service via SOTI Hub. SOTI Hub agents will have the ability to view, download, edit and search files and folders from this repository.
SOTI Surf
Third Party Proxy Support for SOTI Surf ERG Server
The SOTI Surf enterprise resource gateway (ERG) server can now communicate with SOTI MobiControl servers through third party proxy servers hosted within a customer environment.
