MobiControl v14.4.5 Release Notes
v14.4.5 Build 1048 on November 25, 2019
MD5 Checksum: fab04f9e063dfbd2257e9f197391d7f5
Upgrade Considerations
The MobiControl installer will warn on upgrade if it detects Profiles with the Webroot powered "Web Filter" and/or "Antivirus" device configurations. Future upgrades will not be allowed unless all "Web Filter" configurations are transitioned to "SOTI Surf", and all Android device agents are upgraded to v13.5 or higher to continue support for Antivirus.
Please note: We strongly recommend following the standard IT change control practices and testing of product upgrades in pre-production environments.
Contact SOTI's Professional Services and Support Team or visit the product documentation for information on proceeding with your upgrade.
Features and Improvements
Zebra Remote Android Enterprise Migration
With Zebra's deprecation of the Android Device Administrator functionality for its devices, SOTI MobiControl provides a seamless method for migrating your Zebra Android devices to use Android Enterprise Managed Device features instead. Android Enterprise Managed Devices offer many of the same capabilities as device administrator. The migration process is easy and devices are never removed from active service.
Antivirus Cloud-Based Service
As of SOTI MobiControl v14.4.5, antivirus is now a cloud-based service. This change provides devices installed with an Android agent of 14.1 or later with improved virus detection and device performance. Certain fields related to antivirus definitions in the administrative console of SOTI MobiControl were rendered superfluous with switch and were removed.
