Manage Device Language

Administrators can enable users to manage their device language. Users will have the ability to change their device language from Settings Manager. This capability will only be available for Samsung ELM and Bluebird HF550 devices. 

Changes to Version Numbering

Going forward, the versioning of all SOTI products is being changed to provide a more consistent label that better reflects the timing of the release. 2024.0 is the next release after 15.6 for Settings Manager, and all following releases will use this numbering convention.

Configure Mobile Data Access Points

Admins can now configure whether device users can access device settings, and enable or prevent those users from managing their APNs.

Manage Device Security

Admins can enable users to manage their own device security, including the ability to change their device PINs or password from Settings Manager.

Manual Sync with SNTP Server

User can now sync their device's date and time with the data from SNTP servers if the device does not sync automatically.

Toggle for Flashlight

You can now toggle the permission to enable users to use their device’s flashlight.

Customise Access to Sections

You can now configure what sections of Settings Manager device users can access. You can even specify a section outside of the main screen as the default landing screen.

Settings Manager 14.2.1 adds the ability to pair Bluetooth devices from within the Settings Manager app, expediting the connection process. Additionally, Settings Manager has been updated with more MobiControl permissions and providers to maintain compatibility with Android device agents.

Settings Manager 13.4 updates the user interface of the Settings Manager app to provide a more accessible experience. Additionally, the language of the Settings Manager app interface now matches the language set on your device. Supported languages include French, German, Japanese and more.

With the release of Settings Manager v13.3, you can now deploy the Settings Manager app to your devices running Android 8.0, the latest version of Android. The Settings Manager app and profile configuration allow you to determine which device settings your device users can access and modify. Settings Manager and MobiControl v13.2 greatly simplify the process of deploying the Settings Manager app to your devices. You can now create a Settings Manager profile configuration within the MobiControl Console and assign it to your devices. The Settings Manager profile configuration determines which device settings are available to your device users while their devices are in Lockdown mode.

The Settings Manager app is compatible with devices running Android 4.1 to 5.1.1. For information about how to install, configure, and enable the Settings Manager app, refer to the MobiControl online help.

Initial Product Launch

The Settings Manager is an application that enables a MobiControl administrator to provide controlled access to a subset of device settings when a device is in lockdown mode. The types of device settings that can be controlled via the Settings Manager are:

• Display
• Sound
• WiFi
• Bluetooth

In MobiControl v12.2, the Settings Manager is supported on Android and Android+ devices only. The device must be enrolled in MobiControl v12.2 using a v12.2 device agent and have a lockdown policy applied. You upload the Settings Manager to a device as an installable package that has been created using MobiControl Package Studio. Once the Settings Manager has been installed on the device, you can push customized settings to the device.
